Hey guys, for those of u (in other words, those who aren’t in the team) who don’t know, I am now busy with something called Bible Quizzing!!

We’ve been meeting every Friday to “quiz”, and basically, we’ve been memorizing the book of 1 Corinthians.

I currently only have the first 25 verses from the first chapter… T-T

Oh well, anyway, our team name, is now Starbuck’s!!! (I know, amazing, right? lol)
So! We decided that we should designate a type of coffee to eat member of the team!!

Here’s the list! (so far)…apparently, the girls have dibs on the “cino”s?? lol ^^

Me- Frappicino
Traci- Cappicino
Daniel- Espresso
Jonathan- (don’t know yet)
Ifreke- (don’t know yet)
Chris- (don’t know yet)
Troy- Mocha

If anyone (who knows or doesn’t know the people of our team), has any suggestions about different types of coffee, please comment, and let me know! lol

Thanks!

Update as of December- we “might” not be using the Starbuck’s name….hehehehe ^^

sorry for the letdown folks! lol

And for anyone who cares, I am currently memorizing 1 Cor 9, 13, 14, and 2 Cor 5. haha we decided to split up the chapters into more “manageable” portions so as to cover more ground! Aren’t we smart? lol

This fall’s Mission’s Sunday went really well. The CCF group did the song “Fan Zhuan Di Qiu”.

Unlike the performances of before, this one was really upbeat, and fun! The singers even did this little “clapping” thing before the last repetition of the chorus, and it was really cool!

On top of it all, the dancers got to wear white t-shirts and jeans instead of the long, flare-type white silk shirts and skirts.

Personally, I thought it was a nice change in tempo. The funniest part of the day though, was when all the dancers (including the little boys), were standing in the corner of the lobby and were peering out to look at the stage. The lobby was packed with dancers in white shirts and jeans!

Hahaha!

Okay, so i just noticed that it’s been.. a month since i’ve updated, so i apologize to the few people that are actually following our “schedule”.

Day Fourteen- July 4
- went to the NDP (national day parade) rehearsal with ah yi and uncle peter.
- half way there, while we were on the MRT, we realized that even tho we were wearing red and white, for singapore, it was july 4th, and we were also wearing blue jeans (me and ash both were)!! lol God bless America (even if it DID rain on the day that CCC was going to do fireworks (according to joran))
- si jay was the commander of the barges that held the… i forget how many, 25 lb-ders “guns”. they are actually ceremonial guns that look more like cannons, and the reason that they are called 25 lb-ders is because the shells that they shoot out weigh 25 lbs (it’d be really sad if the “gun” itself was 25 lbs…)
- like i said, si jay was the commander, so he gave us special permission to go on the barges and look at the guns! it was really cool!!
- we saw the flyer (the only ferriswheel in singapore) and it is, in a word, HUGE. it’s… idk, the size of the st.louis arch?? or bigger…
- fireworks at NDP were amazing!!!

Day Fifteen to Twenty Four- July 5-…14??
don’t remember, sorry! XP

Day Twenty-Five- July 15
- went to san ah gu’s place for singapore BBQ/grilled dinner. it was pretty good. Bell (our old dog) is a REALLY old lady now.
- went with yi(or yu?) xiang kor kor to pick up daddy from the airport @ 11 something…!!

Day Twenty-Six- July 16
- packing to get ready to go to Penang (or Pinang, if u want the Malay spelling…)

Day Twenty-Seven- July 17
- got on the plane (how many planes flights does this make??)
- got there, and it’s even HOTTER than singapore.
- then, to my horror of horrors: there is NO computer or internet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- went through the painful illness of computer withdrawal.

Day Twenty-Eight- July 18
- went to Penang hill, saw the penang bridge
- we ALMOST saw monkeys there, but we weren’t allowed to go to where they were. (thanks God, I DESPISE those annoying, evil, nut-throwing, kid attacking…well, never mind. u get the picture. they scared me SO badly when i was a kid… *shudder* I REALLY don’t like Malaysian monkeys!!)

Day Twenty-Nine to Thirty One- July 19-21
- i forget what all we did, but we got a bunch of stuff!!!

Day Thirty-Two- July 22
- returned to Singapore. oh, and did i mention that singapore is SO MUCH CLEANER??!!! and better yet, I got to use the computer again!!!! yay!!!!!!!!! we got back in singapore at about 10, went to eat lunch at da ah gu’s restaurant at about…12, and then we killed time till 5.
- then i went over to da ah yi’s house, and used the comp from 5-…7:30. managed to type up more of my story and send it to my co-author (joran) FINALLY!!!

Day Thirty-Three- July 23
- got a haircut (which according to my mother, makes me look 18 instead of my previous hairstyle that made me look 22??)

as always, miss you all very much!!

Ariel

P.s. it’s still hot!! but penang was even HOTTER!!!

Day Six- June 26
-went to Er Ah Gu’s restaurant and got to eat a totally awesome crab!! unfortunately, they served it at the end of the million course meal, so almost all of us were full!! asian friends in carbdonale should have seen the claw that i ate. it was huge!!!
- went to Great City world to book movie tickets for tomorrow, and Uncle Peter treated us to ice cream! I got something similar to Java Chip and I also got mint choco, ash got mint choco and this awesome lemonade sherbet that she refused to share. luckily for me, uncle peter was helpful and helped me to sneak some out of her cup!!! XD

Day Seven- June 27
-we went swimming!! it was pretty nice
- we had curry with baguettes for lunch
- went to go see Transformers 2 with Uncle Peter, sherrie (i probably spelled that wrong) jie jie, si ian, san san, and zhen wei. only i went. the movie overall was okay, graphics were really good, but there was college “stuff” in it. it should totally be rated something higher than PG!!!!! aside from that, it was good.
- went home for dinner
- shocked si ian a little after dinner when he found out that i listen to s.h.e b/c apparently, living in U.S. means that i live in a box??

Day Eight & Nine- June 28- 29

Hello peoples!!
I’m sure most of you already know, but my mom, Ash, and I are now in Singapore!!
It is so…so…HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! However, all the food over here is very good, so it kind of makes up for it.
Here’s a rundown of what we have been doing for the past three days.-

Day One- June 21
- got on the plane from St. Louis to go to Chicago.
- had sandwiches and a Starbucks frappicino for breakfast
- got to Chicago (the plane was very cramped)
- went to get onto the plane to go to Tokyo Narita
- had a very long tedious flight. I was getting sick…planesick? airsick?? i don’t know which word it is. Oh well.
- sadly, the best meal that we had on that 13 hr flight was Cup o’noodles. isn’t it sad?

Day Two- June 22
- got to Narita
- had Japanese hotchpotch. it was pretty good. Just for you people that have no idea what that is, it’s basically a bowl of very yummy soup (clear asian soup, obviously) with a bunch of different squishy Japanese foods.
- ran into a friend from Singapore who happened to be transitting through the same airport at the same time
- got onto the plane to go to Singapore. there was some kind of problem with the plane or weather or something, but it resulted in a ONE HOUR delay!!!!!!!!!
- we arrived in Singapore at 12:30 at night on June 22. or half an hour into the morning of June 23, whatever you want to call it. it’s basically the same thing.
- ah yi, uncle peter, da ah yi, si lea, and san san came to pick us up.

Day Three- June 23
- apparently, our grandparents had no idea that we had gotten to the house, and they were busy calling the relatives that had gone to pick us up to see if we had arrived in Singapore safely.
- we had a visit from a few relatives.
- had pandan marble cake and crackers with milk for breakfast
- had super yummy yellow noodles with spinach and fresh fishball for lunch
- don’t remember what we had for dinner… it was probably rice.

Day Four- June 24
- woke up at 5 in the morning for no other reason than the fact that ash was making way too much noise outside.
- went to the market with Ah gong and mom and ash for breakfast. Had roti paratha with curry for breakfast, with a chilled milo. IT WAS SO SO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!! the curry actually wasn’t that spicy, so i really liked it. (joran, you’d like it a lot if u tried it)
- rest of the day was boring
- si ah gu took us to a fruit market and we bought- durian (yuck!), lychee, jackfruit, mangostene, guava, custard apple, jumbu (don’t know how to spell), etc.
- then si ah gu’s family came over at 10 with si lea and stayed till 12. zhen wei and si lea are so much taller than before!!!!!! and zhen wei is half a cm taller than me!! so not fair. i don’t even want to know how tall si ian and zhen yu are…

Day Five- June 25
- woke up at 9
- went over to San san’s house at 11
- had porridge and prawns for lunch
- and am now updating this blog. it is 1:54 over here. I’ll add more later!!

talk 2 u guys later!!
miss you all very much!!

Ariel

P.s. it’s so hot!!

So we’ve all obviously heard of animals like cows and horses eating grass and plants, otherwise refered to as salad. Even humans eat salad.

And now… my cat eats salad!!! rotfl!!! He’s so funny! He’ll just walk up to one of the plants open his mouth really big, use his paw to stuff half the leaf in, and start chewing!!!!!!!!

It’s so funny!!! I mean, really. Think about it. A salad-eating cat!!!!!!!!

HAhahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!

*sigh*

Okay, i’m done being weird now. Bye bye people!!

Two days ago in French, we were learning how to describe various objects. As our class assignment, our teacher, Madame Gross, said that we were going to write riddles about objects in the room in french.

My partner and I, decided to write ours about my fluffy pink scarf (that most of u reading this have already seen). NO ONE GUESSED IT TILL THE END when we said “made of fabric, light, and soft”.

When we all finished telling our riddles to the rest of the class, Madame Gross told us hers, telling us that we might not know how to say the name of the object in french. She said “triangular, hard, and made of rubber”. Allison promptly called out, “Ooh! C’est la WEDGE du DOOR!!!!” (meaning ooh! it’s the wedge door-thingy/door stopper!)

LOL THAT’S FREN-GLISH FOR YOU!!!

HAHAHAHAHA!!!! la WEDGE du DOOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BWAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Yesterday, Ashriel and I had a piano recital where my teacher, Ms. Reiko, decided that all of her students should make a little speech in front of the audience before they play.

The speech was basically about why we picked to play this piece (she picked it), and why we liked it. Reasons as to why we liked it ranged from things like “I like it ’cause it’s pretty” to “I like it ’cause it gets faster” to “I like it ’cause it makes me feel like my heart is rising to the moon” and “This song makes your heart dancing, and the second song makes your heart um… calm and happy”.

I know, random and some strange reasons right?

But overall, the recital went well with very few people messing up. Ashriel played two pieces- Sonatina in C and Looking-Glass River. And I played the 2nd mvt of Mozart’s Concerto #27.

Thank you so much to all of you who were praying for us!!
